Student Voice Each year, College Representatives are elected via the Student Union to represent the relevant student body at the School’s Learning & Teaching Committee. New College and Subject Representatives are elected eacg acadenic year and are announced during the Michaelmas term. Why are entry standards at Essex Uni so low? The student reps work with the University to take active ownership of the learning experience, provide constructive feedback and help make a different to how their courses and departments are run. The Union of Students are responsible for the academic representation structure at the University. Students just like you elect over 500 Programme and College Reps each year to represent you. Their job is to work closely with the Union’s Vice-President (Education) to identify any student issues or needs and represent the student voice at the highest meetings at the University.
